Archer Family Plot St John's Dixie
Avenue Road Church Hare Krishna
Built in 1891 to house a Presbyterian congregation. They joined with a Meothodist congregation to form a United Church of Canada congregation in 1925. The building was taken over by Evangelist Charles Templeton in the late 1940's . It's expansion bankrupted Templeton and the building was sold to the Hare Krishna sect in the 1960's but a demolition permit was denied so they continue to use the building for their temple.

Boston Presbyterian Church
The Boston Presbyterian Church was built to serve the Scottish population of Esquesing Township locally known as the Scotch Block. That name is still given to a local reservoir of the 16 Mile Creek. "Boston" refers to Scottish clergyman Thomas Boston. This congregation was established in 1820 and the cornerstone of this church in 1868. The first service was held in 1879.

Dixie Presbyterian Church
A congregation since 1878 the cornerstone for this building was laid in 1910. My Mother, Father and paternal grandparents are buried in the adjacent cemetery.

Dunblane Plaque
May 1985 A plaque outside the Dunblane Pres Church describing the building of it.
Dunblane Presbyterian Church
May 1985 This small white church was seen almost standing alone in the Saugeen River valley between Paisley and Southampton, From internet research it is still standing and every August a serrvice is held in it. It is the last building of the hamlet of Dunblane. There was a grist mill and school at one time. There is no electricty hooked into the building. The Lamonte barn is seen in the background. The congregation moved to the larger Pres church in Burgoyne .
Dundas Street United Church, Woodstock
The roots of this church go back to the West End Mission of the Methodist Church in 1884. By 1890 the church had built this edifice at the corner of Dundas and Oxford Streets. The congregation joined the United Church in 1925.

Frome United Church
Picture taken November 13 2009. Talbot Line near Shedden Ontario. Originally a Methodist building. Sold in 2013 and renovated by antique collectors as a private residence. Cemetery dates to 1830's.
Georgetown Baptist Chapel
1869 over the door. Privately owned . This chapel served until the early 1970's when the congregation merged.
Hickson United Church
Built as a Methodist church in 1902 it closed in 2019 and the building was sold. The remaining congregation joined a United church in Tavistock.
Hornby United Church
ex Methodist. This was the church that replaced the Methodist Church at Bloomfield Cemetery on Halton Sixth Line. This building was sold to the town after the congregation merged as Hillcrest United Church in 1968. ** Interesting note in the Hillcrest Church history that Ashgrove United merged with Hornby. The pews from Ashgrove's building were sold to Erindale Presbyterian.**

The Church of the United Brethren in Christ and The Evangelical Church joined and formed The Evangelical United Brethren Church (EUB). This church joined the United Church of Canada in 1968. The Aberfoyle United Church was deconsecrated and joined Morriston in 1988

Port Ryerse Anglican Cemetery
This cemetery was originally used by the UELs as early as 1798 and closed for burials in 1917.
Port Ryerse Memorial Anglican
Port Ryerse on Lake Erie is a settlement of United Empire Loyalists. The church dates to 1798 but the original building was burned in 1814 by Amerucan raiders. This building dates to 1870 and was built as a Memorial to the early settlers.

St Catherine of Sienna RC Church.
Built 1960 to 62 for a parish started in 1956 to serve the growing population of the Cooksville area. Many Italian families moved to Cooksville post WWII and a Mass in Italian is still given each week. Hurontario Street just north of Queensway. Picture September 2017.
St John's Dixie Anglican
This church building dates to 1925 and replaces a brick church that stood from circa 1870 until destroyed by fire in 1924. The congragation outgrew the Union Chapel and was established in its own building. St Johns Dixie runs the cemetery and cremations. St Johns Dixie Cemetery is open to all denominations.
