The Celadon Group of Indianapolis IN entered Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on Monday December 9 2019.
The bankruptcy action included Celadon's Canadian operations. These had been grouped together under the name of Hyndman Transport which had started as a livestock hauler in Gorrie Ontario, They had expanded to Wroexter ON and opened a van division.
Celadon had originally taken over Gerth Transport of Kitchenr. Kitchener remained the operational headquarters until 2016 when a new terminal was opened in Ayr near Highway 401 and 97.
As well as Gerth and Hyndman Celadon bought Hoss Cartage of Cambridge and a large acquisition of the Yanke Group of Saskatoon. Yanke seemed to disappear.
Meanwhile in the USA the parent company was involved in a management fraud.
This fraud was apparently the cause of the bankruptcy.
Here is a Hyndman trailer, possibly loaded with meat, on West Mall while the warehouse still showed Dominion Stores name. A cartage contractor?
Acquired by Celadon and folded into Hyndman.
They added some KW's to their Lease-To-Own fleet.
Celadon acquired Gerth and Gerth of Kitchener. Highway Express was one of their early USA acquisitions.

This Hyndman unit had come off Highway 410 and was headed westbound on Highway 401.

Lonestars were "lease to own" tractors.
Canadian operating name for the Celadon Group. Several Canadian carriers were merged into Celadon Canada and then the Hyndman name used for all.
Parked in mall in Oakville. Last Sunday in May 2019 Update: Celadon, the parent company, entered Chapter 11 Bankruptcy and ceased operatons Monday December 9 2019.
Hyndman was originally a cattle haul company from Gorrie in Midwestern Ontario. It expanded with dry van freight hauling and was acquired by Celadon. They had a few cattle drivers still until the Celadon bankruptcy closed the entire business down.
