The Celadon Group of Indianapolis IN entered Chapter 11 Bankruptcy on Monday December 9 2019.
The bankruptcy action included Celadon's Canadian operations. These had been grouped together under the name of Hyndman Transport which had started as a livestock hauler in Gorrie Ontario, They had expanded to Wroexter ON and opened a van division.
Celadon had originally taken over Gerth Transport of Kitchenr. Kitchener remained the operational headquarters until 2016 when a new terminal was opened in Ayr near Highway 401 and 97.
As well as Gerth and Hyndman Celadon bought Hoss Cartage of Cambridge and a large acquisition of the Yanke Group of Saskatoon. Yanke seemed to disappear.
Meanwhile in the USA the parent company was involved in a management fraud.
This fraud was apparently the cause of the bankruptcy.
