Zavitz Bros H Model Mack (Another Internet find of a Zavitz Bros tractor. Zavitz would buy used or damaged Macks from Toronto Mack and fix them up and put them back on the road from their own shop in Wainfleet.)
Zavitz Bros. Bob McCombs (1975 KW K100 operated by Bob McCombs.
Bob spent time on the Fish Haul around Northern Ontario picking up whitefish to take to New York City and bring bananas back to Toronto. Bob passed in 2022.)
Zavitz Bros. Freightliner COE (Jim Heriott has just returned from a trip to Baltimore MD in 1973. The truck might have been owned by Bob McCombs.)
Zavitz Bros. Mack B61 (An Internet find of what might have been a Ross Ennest picture. Zavitz Bros was a loyal Mack customer and often bought wrecked or blown tractors and rebuilt them in their Wainfleet shop.)
Zavitz Bros. Turnpike Doubles (Jake Mulder sent me this picture of a Zavitz Bros Freightliner that was set up for hauling double 40 foot trailers on the New York State Thruway. Jake needed a special license or endorsement to drive these. They hauled bananas from Albany deep sea port.)
Zavitz Brothers Mack B61 (An old picture found online. This particular Mack, painted light blue, was originally operated by Mel-O-Ripe Bananas. Zavitz took over their trucking operations in the late 1960's.
Zavitz Bros operated a large fleet of B61 and then R600 Mack tractors.)
Zavitz in Albany NY. (A picture of the trucks loading bananas at the Port of Albany NY. sent to Jim Folson by the late Jake Mulder. Jake drove for Zavitz Bros)
Zavitz tractors (An "internet find" of a line of Zavitz tractors . The caption said Gerald Zavitz. Photographer and date of picture unknown.)
