The QEW/403 has an HOV lane in each direction in Oakville and Burlington. This is the sign indicating the end of the HOV lane on the eastbound highway. The tall mast in the background holds a TV camera for the COMPASS traffic control system,
The lanes to the left are the Toronto bound QEW coming from the James N.Allen Burlington Bay Skyway Bridge. The lanes on the right are the eastbound 403. The 403 will be co-signed with the QEW for 22 kilometers to Oakville where the two highways diverge.
This is Kilometer 0 of the QEW. The Peace Bridge Customs compound in Fort Erie Ontario. Commercial Vehicles are directed here to clear their shipments.
The Peace Bridge is the link between Canada and the USA. Buffalo, an important New York State city, is on the US side.
The F.G. Gardiner Expressway is the continuation road leading into downtown Toronto. This road was never a Provincial highway and the Province of Ontario actually downloaded the QEW from Highway 427 to the Humber River to the City including it into the Gardiner. Despite all the squabbling who will pay for maintenance it is essentially one highway for motorists.

There was a major Ontario Provincial Police station at the intersection of Highway 10 (Hurontario) and the QEW. It was closed in 2020 and its replacement was opened on Highway 401 near Mississauga Road.
The project at the QEW and Highway 403 extends to Winston Churchill Blvd. It continues into 2021

There are traffic meter lights are the bottom of the Toronto bound ramp to the QEW at Winston Churchill Blvd. For some reason The MTO has erected a sign in French as well as English.
